Dreams do come true

I know the title is over the top, but it has meaning behind it. Yesterday we went in for my first and most likely only ultrasound (let's hope!). We got a glimpse at our little babe and got to see her move around a bit. She showed off her fingers and toes and even gave us a peak at her face. Our ultrasound tech was so thrilled as he showed us different parts of her body! He kept telling us everything looked good and that she was measuring perfectly for how far along I am.

I liked this shot of her overall body

When it came time to find out her gender, the ultrasound tech asked us if we wanted a boy, girl or didn't care. We told him we really didn't care, but we felt like the baby was a girl. So he moved his wand to look at her behind and as we looked at it I told him it looked like a girl to me because I didn't see anything poking out and he said, "Yep it looks that way to me!" Solon then chimed in and told the tech that if it were a boy, his boy parts would be large and easy to spot. Typical father! The ultrasound tech laughed. He must have been a nice guy because I'm sure that wasn't the first time he heard that comment.

Anyway, Solon and I have both had dreams about this little girl and are so excited to meet her. We love her already and look forward to having her officially join the family as our eldest.

Baby bump

Here are a few pictures of my ever growing baby bump.

12 weeks (I need to work on my picture skills obviously)

16 weeks (Photo by Solon)
18 weeks (Courtesy of Cortney)
I'm getting more and more excited as my belly changes. It makes it seem more real. I'm also happy to be past the "I look like I'm getting fat stage". I feel very pleased with my belly starting to take shape.

I felt movement while we were in Cancun (17 weeks) and when we got back, finally decided it had to be the baby moving. Again, this helps me feel like I really am pregnant.
